I cannot say enough wonderful things about my favorite hotel in Paris, Le Régent.  I am an American tour operator and choosing great little hotels is what I do for a living.  I have visited dozens and dozens of hotels in Paris, and Le Régent is my favorite.  I have been bringing small groups here for many years, and my guests are always delighted.  The rooms are lovely with tasteful décor, the location is absolutely my favorite in Paris, the price is definitely good value, and best of all, the staff is the friendliest, kindest, most helpful staff one could ever wish for.  As a tour leader, the wonderful young people at the front desk have helped me with some very strange requests, and they are always happy to help you with directions, ideas for things to do, storing your luggage, you name it.  The location of Le Régent could not be more ideal for walking to many of Paris’s great sights.  It is very close to the Seine, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Paris’s oldest church, Saint Germain des Prés, the Latin Quarter, and lots more.  The Saint Germain des Pres neighborhood is wonderful—full of cafés, lovely boutiques, antique shops with furniture dating to Louis XIV, and great restaurants.  And it’s very safe—you can go for a walk in the middle of the night and not worry.  The rooms have beautiful bathrooms, which my customers always appreciate, and all the modern amenities.  If size is not important to you, they have a choice of rooms—the small ones are an excellent bargain, and the large rooms are exquisite.  I would recommend this lovely hotel to anyone who appreciates good taste, charm and character.
